About Anne
Practice
Anne Secker’s expertise in multiple areas of the law – commercial and business law, construction law, civil litigation and common interest developments – benefits clients in finance, construction, business, real estate, agriculture, and numerous other industries. She represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. Her active involvement with both business transactions and the disputes that can arise from them enables her to give clients practical advice on structuring transactions to avoid problems. From 1983 to 1995 Ms. Secker served as Judge Pro Tempore of Monterey County Court. In 2018 she was the honoree for the annual Lady Justice award by the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association. Anne holds the highest AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Background
A longtime resident of Salinas, Ms. Secker is a Past President and Board member of the Hartnell College Foundation, and currently serves on its Killian Scholarship and Planned Giving Committees. She is a Board member of the Elkhorn Slough Foundation and is now on its Executive, Finance and Investment Committees. She serves on the City of Salinas Grievance Board.
Anne was formerly on the Boards of the Monterey County Historical Resources Review Board, Ag Against Hunger and the Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association (CHISPA), a local non-profit agency developing housing for low income families. She has also served on several special advisory boards for community projects including the Planned Giving Advisory Committee for California State University. Anne has appeared as a lecturer in various seminars and specialized classes in contract, commercial and construction law. She has authored articles for local construction publications, Coastal Grower magazine, and the Salinas Valley Business Journal.
