Ms. Ascher has focused on estate planning and advising trustees and executors on trust administration and probate matters since 1985. She holds the highest rating category (AV Preeminent) from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named to Thomson Reuters’ NorCal Super Lawyers list every year since 2010. She is certified in probate, estate planning and trust law by the State of California’s Board of Legal Specialization, and has a Master’s Degree in Taxation.
Ms. Ascher is an instructor of wills and trusts at the Monterey College of Law and often speaks on estate-related topics to the general public and other professionals. In 2011 she was elected to the California Trusts & Estates Executive Committee (TEXCOM), which advises the California Legislature, and served as its chair from 2018 to 2019. In 2013, Ms. Ascher was admitted to ACTEC (the American College of Estate and Trust Counsel), a highly selective peer-elected association of attorneys, and she is the only ACTEC fellow among practicing attorneys in Monterey County.
Community service is a high priority for Ms. Ascher, who was a founding leader in establishing Monterey’s My Museum. She has served on the Boards of Congregation Beth Israel, the Monterey County Alzheimer’s Association, and Junior League of Monterey. Ms. Ascher’s four-person staff has also been welcomed into the Noland Hamerly family, further enhancing client service from both our Salinas and Monterey offices.
